A Work in Progress!

That is what I should have titled this website. But isn't every website a work in progress?

O.K. My point is, after beginning the arduous journey of putting together the photos of my artwork, the text, the pricing, and everything else that goes into making even the most basic looking website, I still have so much work to do. You will want to check back often and see what new work I have posted for sale.

My overall goal is to keep things clean and simple--and organized by categories--as much as possible. I dabble in a variety of art genres...ink, watercolor, mixed media, photography, sometimes even acrylic and oil painting. Mostly, I work in ink, so that is what I will try to keep as the focus of my website so it isn't overwhelming to you as the viewer. I can't promise I won't switch things up a bit sometimes though. Like most artists, I refuse to constrain my creativity.

Please be patient as you are scrolling through my pages and let me know what you think. And PLEASE let me know if you see typos. The hardest thing in the world is to find your own mistakes.

I hope you like what you see so far! In the meantime, I will get back to uploading more artwork and updating more pages.

Have a great day!

Danielle

Hello and welcome to the first blog on my artist website!

Art is my passion. I'm Danielle J. Scott, a self-taught artist specializing in the drawing, painting and photography of trees and flowers and figuring out ways to work these (and other elements of nature) into abstract and ornate designs. My home base is Coatesville, Indiana (not far from Indianapolis) but through the power of the internet, and my love of travel, I like to say my work is wherever I am.

My goal for this blog and my website is for it to be a journey of my experience as a visual artist. This will be a great way you and others who love art to get a better feel for what the variety of creative work I do and the type of person I am.

Coming soon to my website, I plan to add images of my newer art, more photography, links to social media sites, post about art related activities as well as communication and marketing ideas for artists. As you can see, this means beginning to write blog posts on a somewhat regular basis. It is my sincere hope these upcoming changes will grow an audience for my art as well as encourage others in their own artistic endeavors.

Please check back often and feel free to leave comments if you see something you like.

Here's looking forward to new adventures in art…

Thank you for stopping by!
Danielle
